CO2 points for the greenery you look after
A tree in the garden, a hedge in the courtyard, a pot on the balcony. Photograph them: artificial intelligence identifies the plant and CO2 Points estimates how much CO2 it has taken out of the air. Every small green gesture becomes a number you can see, share and grow.

Sustainability, one gesture at a time
Plants take carbon dioxide out of the air and lock it away in their wood, leaves and roots. It is quiet work, which is why we rarely notice it. CO2 Points makes it visible, plant by plant, so everyone who plants, cares for and protects greenery can measure their contribution, talk about it and invite others to do the same.
A new tree starts storing carbon straight away and keeps going for decades.
Watering, careful pruning, protection: a healthy plant grows and absorbs more.
A courtyard, a terrace, a tree-lined car park: even a few square metres count.
A challenge with friends, colleagues or the neighbourhood adds up everyone's gestures.
How it works
A method you can read line by line, with the scientific sources cited in every report.
Create a place, such as your garden, the school playground or the company grounds, and take a photo of the whole plant. Its location helps estimate growth in your climate zone.
An artificial intelligence model trained by Simply SFA identifies the species and family, gives the reliability of the identification and estimates the plant's visible biomass.
Using IPCC coefficients, the app adds the roots, works out the carbon and converts it into CO2: how much is stored today and how much the plant absorbs each year as it grows.
CO2 = (above-ground biomass + roots) × 0.47 × 44/12
Easy-to-grasp equivalents, reports to print or save as PDF, challenges with leaderboards and certificates with a QR code that anyone can verify.

Features
Gardens, terraces, courtyards, parks and avenues: group your plants by place and watch the totals grow.
Species, family and a reliability percentage for every photo. Plants identified with low confidence are not saved.
Above-ground biomass, roots, carbon and CO2 step by step, with the method and scientific sources.
CO2 translated into kilometres driven, smartphone charges, washing-machine loads and flights: figures everyone understands.
Essential, Detailed, Professional and Organisation, to print or save as PDF.
Private or public challenges with rules, dates and an area, email invitations and an always up-to-date leaderboard.
Code, fingerprint and QR code: anyone can check that the certificate is genuine and that nobody has altered it.
For nurseries and florists: photo, name, a message for the customer and print, in a single step.
Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Arabic, including right-to-left script.

Who it's for
Gardeners, landscapers, agronomists: the value of your work, measured and put in writing.

Your company's greenery becomes a clear indicator to communicate.

Every plant you sell comes with its own CO2 points certificate.

The value of public greenery, explained to citizens.

Good to know
CO2 Points is not a certification body. It awards CO2 points (1 point = 1 kg of estimated CO2) calculated from photographs and coefficients from the scientific literature: they are not carbon credits or field measurements, and they cannot be used to offset emissions. They are, however, a clear, documented indicator, useful for social reports, for building your brand and for communicating the green awareness of companies and organisations.
FAQ
It is an estimate. The most uncertain part is the above-ground biomass, which the AI derives from the plant's apparent size in the photo; roots are estimated using the R ratio of the vegetation category. Every report shows the method, coefficients and sources (IPCC 2006 and 2019, Cairns et al. 1997, Nowak et al. 2013) and the reliability of each identification.
Yes, as an indicative estimate of the greenery you manage, stating the method and sources given in the report. Offsetting claims require third-party measurements and certification.
That the certificate with that code and fingerprint is in the CO2 Points register with the values shown, and that nobody has changed them since it was issued. It does not confirm that the CO2 was measured or certified by third parties.
They are used by profiles that issue certificates with credits, such as Nursery & florist and Non-profit & public sector. The cost grows with the plant's kg of CO2: for small plants one credit is enough. Credits are bought in packs, by bank transfer.
In the demo, the photo is analysed and then deleted straight away. With an account, your photos stay in your places and your reports.
Nurseries and florists can sign up directly with the Nursery & florist profile. To switch to another profile, sign in and contact CO2 Points.
